iPad please. Pretty please!

iPad please. Pretty please!

I’m sure one of the Ten Commandments is something like “thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s ox”. Or possibly it’s “wife”. Or both. I can’t really remember. But I tell you what, at the moment I’m mainly coveting my housemate’s iPad.
What is it about the iPad that makes it so desirable? For me it’s possibly that it’s even more beautiful than a work of contemporary art, whether that’s something by Damien Hirst, Anish Kapoor or Govinder Nazran. Slim, sleek, and usually elegantly black (although I think now they’re releasing them in elegant other colours too, but who wants those? As Henry Ford said - it can be any colour as long as it’s black?), it combines the twin virtues of being both beautiful and useful.
To be fair there aren’t that many things that you can do on the iPad that you couldn’t do on an iPhone, and I’ve got an iPhone so I’m not entirely sure I can justify the purchase of an iPad. On the other hand it’d be really really useful for work with all that travelling I do - imagine being able to read reports and even newspapers on the train without having all the hassle of opening my laptop, never mind the bother of keeping it plugged in. I’d be so connected. And I could talk to my boss via the FaceTime app, which I’m sure she’d appreciate. Or maybe not given some of the things I had to say at our last company meeting. But that doesn’t matter, ’cos I WANT ONE!!!
