A grocery shopping list will stop you from buying unnecessarily and will prevent you from making extra trips to the store. A list also will ensure that you don’t skip an important item and later buy it at a smaller shop for a more expensive price.

· Plan the Meals: By planning your meals you will know what you need to buy.

· Pay Attention to Brand and Price: There are similar products that have different prices sitting right next to each other. When you pick up an item look at the price label to find out what you are going to pay.
· Look out for the Best Deals: If you are buying juice don’t buy it from the display in front of the aisle. These are usually advertised as on sale but may not be the best price. Head to the place where the rest of the fruit juice is; that is where you will have a large selection to search from.
· Focus on your task: If you want to buy on the whim you might as well throw away the money you planned on saving. When you are shopping you are required to have self-control if you want to save money. Don’t look through items that are not on your list. Also it is an excellent idea to shop alone; when you take your children or even your spouse you are likely to spend more money.
· Be Flexible: There is only one reason to change your list and that is if you find a better offer. For instance, if you notice that the oatmeal is better in price than the cereal you can choose to purchase the former.
