Wish list - what I really want
There are always things I want, I always have a wish list on the go. Sometimes the top of the wish list is ’learn French’, or it’s ’learn an instrument’, but more often than not it’s something more material. At the moment I’d like to get a suit fitted, a proper one. I’ve heard that going to Thailand is one of the best ways to get a good tailor made suit, but I’m not sure it’s worth the air fare. I suppose what I’m looking for is a tailor made suit website, somewhere where you can give your measurements and get a perfectly fitted suit - without having to go to Thailand, or even to Saville Row.
Number two on my wish list at the moment, however, is a holiday in Australia. I’m not sure whether it is classed with a suit under ’material wants’, or whether it’s a less tangible thing, like learning French. I suppose it’s half way between the two really. A holiday is an experience, something more than just an object, but it doesn’t necessarily provide long lasting satisfaction the way that learning a new skill does. I wonder whether you can get a good quality tailor made suit in Australia…? I don’t want one made out of kangaroo or koala skin though, just a regular pin striped affair, or maybe just a plain grey. Perhaps the answer to all of my desires at the moment is just to stop off in Thailand on my way home from an Australian holiday!
