Things a girl can not live without vary from woman to woman. I am one of those women you could describe as slightly obsessive compulsive, therefore number one on my list is…my GIANT handbag. This giant handbag is then filled with all kinds of things. It depends on what time of the year it is and also what is going on in my life, but I have been known to carry cutlery around with me! In the summer I religiously take sun-cream, running clothes for the gym, an umbrella and sunglasses out with me.
I generally also have to have two or three notepads and about a billion pens. One is a diary, the other is a second memory and the third is just in case….
Ok so I am very obsessive, however there are other, less control freaky things I could not live without.
Number 2 Mascara; I couldn’t careless if I never had another form of make-up as long as I had mascara I would be happy.
Number 3 smellies; I could not survive without having a massive stock of bathroom smellies. Lush is like a fantasy shop for me. They are particularly important to me, as my bath time is one of the only times of the day no one can bother me. My phone is off, the iPod is on, a good book in hand and smellies everywhere. It is the only time I get to have a bit of me time…I’m sure many women can appreciate this!
I also could not live without my iPod or books. Both these things help me to experience a bit of escapism, thankfully pulling me out of situations and thrusting me and my imagination in to happier less stressful places…

I don’t know what makes girls so excited about shoes. Surely we should go for something comfortable and practical, something that will go with most outfits and something we can run around doing our business without having to carry a ton of plasters and a pair of flip flops in our bag just in case the pain gets too much.

But there is something in women’s psyche that goes pop every time we see a beautiful sexy pair of shoes. It is some sort of admiration and adoration, something that urges us to spend the hard earned cash on yet another pair of 5 inch heels that we know we will only wear occasionally, will be totally inapproriate for our primary teaching jobs or whereever we work, and too uncomfortable to wear around town. We will know that we will have to wear trainers to arrive to our destination and only change into the beautiful pair of heels we have before entering the party, but we still can’t help ourselves and buy them.

I was browsing net-a-porter during my lunch break at work when I stumbled upon this beautiful pair of Louboutin patent pumps. I thought that my heart stopped beating for a second when I saw them - so perfect, the lines drawn by the hand of an angel, surely! Now I already have a pair of almost identical black patent leather pumps, but yet I see that what I have is nothing compared to these masterpieces. A girls just gotta have shoes. Can never get enough. “Not another pair of shoes!”hubby says as the mail man rings the security buzzer again to gain access with yet another parcel. Hubby know all too well whats in there as he oggles the catalogues that he contemplates burning them I’m sure.

Well it all started when I saw a lovely pair of shoes in the catalogue buying them was absolutely necessary, well a girl can never have enough every day shoes, and then theres summer so one absolutely must have some sandals, and for winter boots and of course trainers to go with your new running clothes. What about fancy shoes? Just gotta have a pair of decent courts at least. Whats a girl gonna do?

Then theres colours. Blacks a good classic and goes with everything. but what about summer. Isn’t black going to be hot to wear on your feet in the summer even with mesh type tainers. Did you know they have those even? Found a open court shoe style with mesh on top but all round ballet/trainer shoes with a nice spongy trainer instep and outside and nice enough to wear with skirts.

Its not that I’m a shoeaholic or anything but don’t hubbies know the shoes make the outfit? Really, tell me how can you go out the house in an outfit for a wedding with trainers on? There are always uncomfortable fashions, and when a women is at home, it is time to relax and get out of a usually uncomfortable outfit at the end of the day. What can’t you live without?

I was recently asked this question by my friend. They said so what can’t a girl live without. I thought about it long and hard before answering. I could live without my 50 pairs of shoes although I really love all of them. I could live without my 17 purses but I like coordinating. I could even live without my makeup although I may not want to leave the house for the first few days. I kept pondering the question and ran through many items.

There are a lot of things that have helped my past mistakes, like laser tattoo removal manchester, because it turns out I really hated that snake I got when I was drunk. However, I could have also lived without that procedure although I would never be able to show my midriff around my mother again.

I thought about my hair straightener. I guess it wouldn’t kill me to have wavy hair. I thought about my 100 different colors of nail polish and I guess that my nails could go all natural. So I thought well if I was on a camping trip other than the basic necessities what would it really bother me to go without. That is when it hit me. I absolutely can’t live without my hair brush. I can’t even go stay somewhere and use someone else’s brush.

I have to have my wooden medium bristled hair brush. I will put my hair into a make shift pony tail or bun without it and hurry home. I never forget it when I travel or even go out. I actually have 12 of them. They are the exact same brush. I have one in my car, one in my purse, one at my mom’s house, one in my desk drawer at work, and one in my overnight bag. The other 7 of them are at my house. I actually have this phobia that the company will stop making them and I purchased a case of them a few years back. So through a lot of soul searching I have found that my hair brush is a necessity.

I first discovered Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel last year after my sister suggested it and I absolutely can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s taken me years to find a moisturiser that suits my skin type as I’m prone to spots every now and again, and my skin also has the tendency to get quite dry. It’s such an annoying combination! This winter has been an absolute nightmare as I’ve been going from the icy cold outside to a stuffy overheated office almost every day. So my skin has been quite confused and even more dry than normal. So Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturising gel (for oily/combination skin) has really sorted my skin out and I actually think I look a bit younger after I’ve put it on! I definitely look less tired and dry. Probably just wishful thinking, but hey if it makes you feel good then I’m not going to argue! One of the best things about the gel is that it’s really light as well so it never feels greasy or like you’re clogging up your pores. Also it’s fragrance free so it feels quite pure and not too chemical filled. The packaging is really lovely too, as it comes in a classy pale yellow Clinique bottle with a silver top and it looks really nice on my bathroom shelf above the sink.
